Did I plan on holding Thomas in every photo? No. Would he let me put him down? Also a no. But I understand where he's coming from, I'm pretty fun to hang out with. ;)
I hadn't put very much thought into what I would wear once Thomas was born. Maybe I just wasn't able to fully grasp what life as a mom would be like in general let alone what the wardrobe was going to be like? So far, all I've figured out is that 1) whatever I'm wearing will end up covered in spit up and/or drool (who am I kidding, it's and... spit up and drool) and 2) I need very quick and easy access to my boobs. Thomas brings hangry to a whole new level and he will go from happy to velociraptor in 3 seconds flat when hunger strikes. As a result I am wearing a lot of stretchy black clothing.
Most of my pre-baby clothes are already
packed for the move so I haven't even attempted to see what might fit
yet (yikes - that's going to be fun) but my maternity clothes are so
comfy I'm happy wearing them for a bit longer.
Besides, I honestly don't think very many of my non maternity tops will
be very nursing friendly. I have a couple little black maternity dresses (or LBMDs) that have transitioned really well into a nursing wardrobe as well as a few black maternity tops and a pair of skinny black dress maternity pants.
Can I also take a quick second to
applaud maternity pants? Why do any pants have judgmental buttons at the
top? Do know what isn't judgemental? A stretchy band. Stretchy bands on
your pants don't care when you eat an entire
pizza but a button does. But I digress...
Honestly, I have just been wearing the
same black stretchy maternity items on repeat for the past 9 weeks when
going out. And now that the weather has been cooling off I've been
adding in some light jackets and blazers from
my non maternity wardrobe to add some variety.
But let's be honest here, does anyone
really care what I'm wearing when baby clothes are so darn cute? All I
have to do is put little baby shoes on Thomas and I could literally wear
my pajamas in public without a single
person caring. Not that I would ever do that...

Aw, well thank you. At this point I don't really have very many clothing options so if they look classic, I'll take it ;) I love Zara shoes! Ordering them online is always so perfect. Good luck on your search for flats! xo (Also, thank you! I am biased but I have to agree he's pretty cute haha)
DeleteI've been out of the blogging loop for awhile - you had a baby!!! Congratulations!!! He's too cute. It's definitely a whole new ballgame trying to dress yourself with little ones pulling on things and spitting up everywhere.
ReplyDeleteI've been out of the blogging loop too so don't worry! Yes! We had a boy in July and he's the best little guy. Honestly, I didn't realize how different it would be trying to get dressed with a newborn so I'm hoping I am doing alright with it haha
DeleteI'm looking for a similar trench - is yours recent?
