{Wearing: Jacob Faux Leather Trim Trench (c/o) (on sale now!), Gap Blouse, True Value Vintage Jeans, Seychelles Sequoia Flats (c/o pj&j boutique)}
The two questions I am getting asked the most right now are "do you ever wear jeans" and "do you ever wear flats". I admittedly wore a lot of skirts this summer (what can I say, I went through a skirt phase) and I do tend to photograph outfits that are styled with heels so I understand why these questions get asked. I assure all of you that I am a jeans girl at heart and during the colder months you will see more and more of them. As for flats? I don't usually wear them unless I am walking around the city because I have short little legs so I feel better in heels. I've also had a lot of trouble finding stylish flats that are also comfortable. I tend to get tricked by the fact that the shoe has no heels and automatically assume they will be suitable for walking. Wrong. So very wrong. I end up with feet covered with blisters and band-aids. So far this Seychelles pair is passing the band-aid test so they might get put into my regular walking shoe rotation...
I'm the only one who judges my shoes by how many band-aids they result in me wearing, aren't I?
I hate when that happens. I love a comfortable shoe but there are several of once worn flats laying on my closet. Not every flat is comfortable for walking I recently learned that too.
ReplyDeleteTotally understand you with the short little leg syndrome haha.. I too have that problem!! Those flats are amazing!! and that Jacob coat..perfection! Gotta love Jacob for the classic pieces!

Ha! I've had the same experiences with flats. I find that the flats that already have super soft leather hurt the least. If they feel like they'll need breaking in, they'll likely require band-aids.
ReplyDeleteI usually give up easily - if flats require a band-aid it's very likely they won't be worn again for months. Until the redeem themselves. I have an odd relationship with my shoes.
ReplyDeleteThese shoes however are so cute - totally worth the band-aids.

I love that bag!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on the flats. I walk to work every morning and those babies better be comfortable. And they really are so tricky! Just because they're flats does not meant they are comfortable at all.
ReplyDeleteI really love the ones you're wearing. The green colour is super fun, but neutral enough for everyday wear. Love that bag too!

I love that trench - I'm so into all the faux leather accents on clothing this fall/winter so that gorgeous jacket is right in my wheelhouse right now.

Haha you aren't the only one who uses a band aid scale to judge shoes. It's funny you say that about flats because I agree they can be deceiving. I have had pairs of flats that have put my feet in SOS mode faster than a pair of 6 inchers!
ReplyDeleteAnyway...
I love the faux leather detail on that coat. It looks so luxurious and the flats are adorable. Love snakeskin!
Thanks for stopping by my blog and showing love! I appreciate it and it made my day!

I normally wear an xs or an s and this is a small and fits a bit big. I wanted to layer so I was happy with that :) I hope that helps!

DeleteHi Melissa! Thank you so much for visiting and following my blog! I'm following you back on GFC:)! Oh, and facebook too:)!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean. I tend to assume that flats are more comfortable, but they're not always the case. We must be more vigilant with footwear, even those unsuspiscious ones without heels. LOL ;)

So true: flat does not = comfy! I only wear flats, but still have huge trouble finding good ones! Love your outfit - that jacket is amazing, and you're making me want to pull out my plaid shirt (even though it's hot over here!) :)

I'm the same way. Skirts to work, and skirts to church. The end :) I'm in love with your trench and need one so bad!
ReplyDeleteFollowing you back
I totally judge shoes by the fabulousness factor divided by the amount of blood shed. Sometimes you just have to muscle through! haha.
ReplyDeleteLove. This. Look.
ReplyDeleteThese Shoes and that Jacket are too cute. Love those flats.
I am totally with you on the band-aids too. I always wear my flats without socks too, but frequently get blisters with many kinds of flats. Now it seems like I just wear bandaids nearly all the time, even before I get blisters, just in case!
Funny, your title said Jeans & Flats & Band-aids, but I don't actually see the band-aids, unless Im missing something. We're your bandaids peeking out or showing any with these shoes?
I live in the southern US, so this is a perfect winter look that I am totally going to try to pull off. But since my hair isnt nearly as cute as yours, I'll just have to settle for the rest of the look!
