I teach all next week and as always, I'm looking forward to it. Every group of students is so different so there is always that exciting element of the unknown on the first day. The one thing I do know for sure is that the classroom I'm teaching in is going to be extremely hot. I'm actually pretty stressed about trying to create office appropriate outfits that won't cause me to die of heat stroke. My summer attire has been short skirts and shorts so the idea of wearing any of the clothes I normally teach in makes me cringe. Just thinking about wearing black pants right now is making me all sweaty and gross and I don't feel like buying anything new.
If I wore a tank top and hawaiian shorts, but then wore a tie with it... would that make it office appropriate? Sort of? Don't answer that. I am just going to pretend you all said yes.
I'm sure you'll come up with something appropriate and stylish. But you didn't tell us what you'll be teaching! :)

Well...how about a summer dress with a cardigan over it? If it isn't to short, it might work!! Shorts are trickier...but skirts and dresses are easier to work with!

ReplyDeleteAGH, I can't imagine wearing pants right now either. Is it not air conditioned in your classrooms? I'm sure you'll come up with something ;)

Love this look, especially the pop of orange from the shoes!
ReplyDeleteI don't envy you teaching in a hot classroom. My only advice, lots of cotton, jersey, or perhaps linen? Lots of cool fabrics.
