{Wearing: Zara Blazer, F21 Sleeveless Trench, Top Shop Blouse, American Apparel Pants, Top Shop Pumps, F21 Necklace}
The same blouse two posts in a row? You betcha! I'm not going to go on a rant about how I have to budget, or how I'm going "remix" my pieces I already own... but I'm almost 30 and I have had to adjust my priorities. I will have to rewear my clothes far more than I do and I won't be making myself feel like a bad blogger because of it (can you tell I've been repeating this to myself over and over? haha) Will I be shopping? Of course, I wouldn't be Melissa if I didn't shop! I just need to make sure that I'm being an adult about my shopping decisions. You're not considered an adult until you turn 30... right?
Melissa, that is such a pretty necklace! is it heavy?

No it isn't heavy :) It's a little older though so I'm not sure it'd be available at F21 still. However they always have a fun selection of jewels to pick from!
DeleteThat's a lovely shirt. If I owned it I would wear it nearly every week!
ReplyDeleteI love the shirt, it is worthy of wearing twice ... heck wear it for a week ... I love it!

I knowww... I have to go on a shopping budget too I think and it's hard! But rewearing things is totally normal and even better when you can make the piece look completely different day to day. Plus that blouse is gorgeous!

I think that makes you more relatable. Most people can't afford to shop a lot, and have to re-wear the same things over again. The beauty of it is that you can show people how to make one piece work in so many different ways.
ReplyDeleteexactly! maybe 31....
ReplyDeleteLove your blouse! I'd wear it in 2 blog posts in a row as well. Happy Friday!

I love the whole outfit, but the piece that came to my eyes is this gorgeous necklace! wow! forever21 really seems to have great pieces, I should start to order online via their shop!
ReplyDeleteAnd I think there is no "beginning" of being an adult - we'll all stay children ;-) but I'm a bit like you: after I finished my studies, I started to think more about my closet, and realized that I really didn't have many "work appropriate" things... And I think there's no problem at all with wearing things twice... For me that's the crucial point: Somebody (like you are) who is able to wear one item twice in two different outfits and so remix it makes is blog way more interesting - because it's more like "real life" - than somebody who wears nothing ever twice.

Honestly it's like a completely new blouse how you've worn it and styled it differently. Kudos to you! As a lowly grad student I feel like the "how to wear the same item in different ways" is more useful to my reality... except whereas your item is a delicious blouse, mine right now is a Canucks tee (at least it's play offs so my outfit is 'current', right?)
ReplyDeleteJess.
The blouse is gorgeous! Re-wear it all you want!
