I have decided I'm going to become a runner. That's something you can just decide right? As someone with asthma (and I'm talking reaaaally bad asthma) I always just accepted the fact that I couldn't be a runner. But not anymore! First step will be running without falling off the treadmill unable to breathe. Once I have gotten step one down, I will be asking all of you runners for tips. Until then I will be gripping onto my inhaler with dear life and jogging really slowly. It's really attractive and I apologize in advance to anyone who attends my gym.
I want to be a runner too but dislike running. I run a mile and give myself a pat on the back instead of pushing myself to achieve more.
ReplyDeleteThose shoes=to die for.
Another fantastic dress!

Good for you! I love running and when I'm old enough I'd love to jog downtown. You can overcome anything if you just put your heart in the right place. :)

I used to be like you-- asthmatic non-runner-- and I ran my first half-marathon in february. It took me about 2 years to get there, slow and steady. Check out the Couch 2 5k program (they have an app) and just go about your own rhythm, duplicated (or even triplicate!) weeks if need be. The feeling you'll get running on the Seawall is unparalleled. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, FIERCE shoes!
that dress looks perfect with the white blazer ... so pretty ... and good luck with the whole running thing girl ... I used to have asthma as a child and remember how hard it is ... I am lucky I grew out of it

It's so nice out - you should definitely start off by doing a bit of the seawall instead of inside on a treadmill!!

Running is the best thing ever for overall physical health! And it's such a natural high! And the best part about it is that anyone can do it, aside from people with certain injuries, obviously, but anyone can run! Good luck! -Jessica

I was kind of hoping that this post was going to be about running for political office. We don't live in the same country or anything but I'd vote for you. Just don't ask me to physically run with you--that'd never happen. ;)
ReplyDeleteThat's fantastic! Running is so exhilarating.
ReplyDeleteGood luck! I recently decided to be a runner and it's been great (except for the fact that I can't run in a straight line on the treadmill) ! I'm sure you'll do fantastic!
ReplyDeleteGood for you! :)

I became a "runner" last year. I started out really slowly - over months and months I trained for the 5k race in the Blue Nose Marathon in Halifax, NS. I have continued with my running goals and am now up to 10k and doing the 10k race in the Blue Nose this year! I used to joke, "I only run if someone is chasing me, threatening my life, and even then I may try to hide first". Now I'm a runner! I can do it... trust me... anyone can do it. Good luck with your running!!! Amanda :)
ReplyDeleteyes, you should definitely give running a try! i've been running for years and years, and i love it; it's a great exercise (obviously) and it's also a great time to just clear your head. but i will say though, you really should start off slow, because so many people try to do long distance or just kill it in the beginning, and they end up with shin splints, stress fractures, or a whole list of other injuries. good luck!
ReplyDeleteBeing a runner is super fun :) I started with 5 minutes on an elliptical which is easier than 5 min on a treadmill and I recently did a 50k (31.1 mile).
