ModCloth Dress, Marc by Marc Jacobs Bag, Banana Republic Necklace, Aldo Pumps.
I would like to put on record that I wasn't flipping someone off in that last photo. I would never post a cropped photo of me giving someone the finger. I just keep them in a file on my computer for my own enjoyment... obviously.
You have probably figured out that this was the outfit I wore to the Banana Republic Mad Men launch. Funnily enough the Mad Men line has a very similar cream coloured lace dress. During the event I had a few ladies tell me they liked my dress so I just pointed them in the direction of the lace dress for sale. That's when I learned the power of pockets. Any time I pointed out the Banana Republic dress after receiving a compliment on my dress I heard "I just really like that yours has pockets". I mean, I've seen the power of pockets on Say Yes to the Dress when brides have bought horrible wedding dresses because they had pockets but I hadn't really seen it myself until now.
So my friends, don't ever stress about what to wear again because it honestly doesn't matter. Sew pockets onto it and every lady will love it... like this DIY garbage bag dress with pockets I just made, thanks to the power of pockets it's my new favourite thing in my closet.
very sweet dress! love that cute pocket details and that necklace is adorable :)

Hahaha... When I saw the title of this post, I thought you were blogging about your work pants?! Haha Very pretty dress btw!
ReplyDeleteMy fleece robe has pockets AND A HOOD. I knew it was all the clothing I ever needed and this post only supports that. Next time I'm in a style rut I'm just going to wear my robe out and I fully expect to look as glam/classy as you do in this ensemble!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely STUNNING dress. I just love it and your blog. I'm your newest follower.

NEW POST: Beautiful Industrial
Love that dress! It has 2 of my favourite things - pockets and lace! Pockets are actually sooo useful, I recently bought a blazer with fake pockets and I kind of regret it!

ahaha that last photo totally does look like you were flipping someone off - I was hoping you'd mention it and put my imagination at rest!
ReplyDeleteThere is something so amazing about a lace dress, it's just so simple and complicated all at once. And you're right, ladies love the pockets. Pockets are like crack for ladies.
Love this dress on you. It fits you superbly. And I have to agree of the wonder of pockets. I'm much more likely to love a skirt or dress that also has pockets. I rarely even put anything in them but they are still great to have. - Katy
ReplyDeleteNothing beats a dress with pockets.
ReplyDeleteDid I already tell you in your BR post that I love this entire outfit SO MUCH? The lace dress (and pockets!!!) and the bag, and the necklace. LOVE THEM ALL.
ReplyDeleteThough I like things with side pockets, because i always put a bunch of crap in them (keys, phone, snacks, garbage), they'd show too clearly with these kinds of pockets. haha! :) still cute though.
Great photos, who took them ;) You looked stunning as always last Thursday! Everyone was complimenting your dress, what a great purchase xo
ReplyDeleteI saw your dress earlier on someone else's blog (wow. creepy enough lol?!) and immediately was like Wow, LOVE that! So glad you did a full post on it. Especially because it has pockets. :) I guess the pockets just provide something else to do instead of awkwardly letting your arms hang...? Plus you can store hors d'oeuvres in them. Instant party success!
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely weekend Melissa! xx
I do love dresses with pockets! Such a cute touch. I think you need to work at Banana now! I'm surprised they didn't recruit you. Your hair looks perfect, as per usual.
ReplyDeleteThat dress is so beautiful!

I love this look. Your dress and necklace are lovely, but my favourite is that bag. I have been eyeing one just like it at Aritzia for far too long.
