Apparently deciding you don't want to put pictures on your Google+ account when you sign up for it means that all of your photos will be deleted off your blog.
So every photo that was on my blog before I signed up for Google+ has been permanently deleted.
I can't explain how close to tears I am right now. If I wasn't at work today I would have totally broken down.
So, I am going to slowly work on adding photos to my blog again but it's going to take some time.
For any new visitors, I apologize for the lack of photos and I promise they'll be back.
For current readers, I will try to keep up on new updates even though most of my spare time will be spent trying to re-upload photos.
Ugh, I'm so frustrated right now. I would feel stupid but thanks to message boards I have discovered I'm not alone in this. Reading about people who have lost photos from blogs they've had for 7 years sounds a lot worse then my situation so I'll try not to punch Google+ in the face.
*I've re-uploaded 10 posts worth of pictures. Only 445 more to go! :p
OMG, I can't believe that's what happened if you unchecked that box for Google+. So sorry this happened to you, Melissa <33

Yep. Happened to me, too. I. WAS. PISSED! I got over it, but man...what a freaking crappy thing! I had no idea unchecking it would totally delete the album, ya know? So sorry :(
ReplyDeleteOMG I am so sorry, Melissa! I know I would have been bawling my eyes out over discovering what had happened. :(
ReplyDeleteWTF! I'm so sorry!!! Don't worry - we're all here and we're all still reading. Cheer up - you still have awesome style!
ReplyDeleteOh no!
ReplyDeleteThey don't even warn you? That really sucks! But you know we'll still be here, reading your wonderful stuff! Good luck!
Have you contacted customer service for Blogger or Google+ about this? There's gotta be a way to fix it. I'm so sorry you're going through this.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry!!!! This is horrible!!!! Hope you can find an easy fix!!!
ReplyDelete:( So sorry to hear this Melissa. Blogger really sucks sometimes... you do have your photos on your hard drive though, right? At least in that sense they aren't gone forever-forever... hope you can take a bit of comfort in that!
ReplyDeleteHope you're having a great weekend besides this little incident. Stay positive and keep blogging/re-uploading because there would be too many sad readers if you didn't!

wow wtf that's terrible. you'd think Google would explain it more clearly or explain how close the blog and google+ would be linked. Sorry to hear all the hard work went down the drain... hopefully they have it saved in some database and maybe by some miracle you'll get them back!
ReplyDeleteOh no!! I'm so sorry that this has happened, how freakin annoying. I did a similar thing recently - I accidentally moved all my pictures into another album on photobucket, changing their links and essentially removing them all from my blog! I wanted to cry! I've been slowly re-uploading them but I still have a ton of posts from last summer and spring that are yet to be fixed. What a bummer.
ReplyDeleteOMG!! This is insanity!! I am so sorry sweetie...
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, that is so beyond frustrating!
ReplyDeleteWow. That really sucks!! I'm so sorry. I'd cry in a corner if that had happened to me.
ReplyDeleteWhen I signed up, there was no choice but to link my accounts. I didn't want to, but couldn't find a way to NOT link them, so I just ignored it. Glad I never figured it out! :(
Ahhh!! I'm so sorry! Thanks for the Google+ warning, at least you're able to warn people ahead of time so that it doesn't happen to them!
ReplyDeleteGrrrrr on Google+. It's already failed in my mind because of this!

That sucks. Never delete your Google+ account, it will delete your entire blog.
ReplyDeleteI was wondering what was going on with the pictures...thats soo frustrating!!
ReplyDeleteMelissa - That is horrible! I can't believe it happened. Good for you for holding your head up and slowly re-uploading the photos. I might have been tempted to pull the plug if it happened to me. I'm glad you're not. Good luck with the uploads. - Katy
