"On a warm sunny day in May 2008, four-year-old Alexa Middelaer was standing on a Ladner roadside feeding a favourite neighbourhood horse when she was struck and killed by an impaired driver"
After reading that, I was even happier that I agreed to be apart of last nights fashion show at The Urban Rack in support of Alexa's Bus, a project hoping to save lives and reduce injuries caused by impaired driving through education and enforcement.
You can learn more about Alexa's Bus here, and if you're interested in donating you can do so here.
I was lucky enough to be involved with an event that allowed me to do two of my favourite things at the same time. Shop and donate to an amazing cause. I was also able to dabble in something I have neeever done before, runway modeling! As a 5'5" curvy clumsy girl, I never thought I'd see the day where I strutted down a runway but it was SO much fun. Everyone watching was so friendly and supportive that it really just felt like modeling outfits for a (large) group of friends.
This dress was my favourite of my 5 looks! I have to admit I'm nervous to see the "professional" photos from the event. My overly expressive face is not meant for candid pictures haha!
Thank you so much Jen for including me in this amazing event. Is it too early to RSVP for next years show?
How fun!! You look great :)
ReplyDeleteAw, so cute & fun! That's so awesome! But hold up, you are 5'5?? I had in my head you were a tiny little thing, like 5'2 or something! I did not imagine you being only an inch shorter than me! I don't know why this interests/intrigues me so much, but it does!
ReplyDeleteYou looked so beautiful! I'm sure you'll be in high demand now so I'll have to book you now for next year's show:-)
ReplyDeleteThank you for being involved in our event. We have some beautiful pics of you. We'll be sure to send some to you.
You look so beautiful! Looks like a fun time =)
ReplyDeleteWow, you look beautiful! I love that dress on you. This sounds like a lot of fun and what a great cause!
ReplyDeleteLove the top in the first picture.

This event looks like so much, and for a wonderful cause, too :) I completely understand your runway reservations as 5'2" spaz, but you really do look like a pro- your expressive face is part of the appeal- and that dress is stunning.
ReplyDeletexox,
Cee
you look amazing!!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a lot of fun!
ReplyDeleteYour modelling debut was a success!! Looks like so much fun, I'm so sad that I missed out :( And you're right, that last dress you're wearing is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteYou look stunning as usual!
ReplyDeleteYay! You look so pretty, and model fierce (is that smeyzing?... hrmm NO idea how to spelling that!) That dress is so pretty, and it's such a good cause.
ReplyDeleteIt also made me happy that a fellow 5'5" gal was able to shimmy her way onto a catwalk :) xx
